Music Camp 2014 convened at Tom Johnson Camping Center’s

Music
Camp began with a meeting on September 15, 2014. Sharps and Flats President Bruce
Taylor explained the varied activities of Music Camp.
Coffee
and camper treats drew Maestros to a 7:30 AM gathering. Maestro BJ Fuller presented a short
suggestion for managing stress.
The
band spent time on Dixieland music and sight reading. Campers wrote on a list their suggestions for
a time of reading much music. Some had
sent music prior to camp to be read.
Jams
were a vital part of the Sharps and Flats each evening.
A
white elephant exchange and auction provided a time to enjoy just being silly. Several
games filled the Happy Hour time with
fun.
A
workshop presented by a barbershop quartet taught how close harmonies are
achieved by listening to others.
The
group ate at Fatz Restaurant in Marion, NC.
A
day away, a day off, and a day of rain was welcomed by all.
Several traveled to tour the Biltmore House
in Asheville, NC.
The
Maestros were off to Asheville, NC to the Western North Carolina Fairground for
a week of rehearsals and rally performances September 21-28, 2014.
