Sharps and Flats enjoyed nightly

jams during the pre-rally.

Traditional Morning Coffee:

The Polka Band opened

the first day of coffee.

The Full Ensemble performed

for three morning coffees.

Military Services were saluted.

Maestros presented an evening show

for the GEAR rally entitled

“Lighthearted Music” with narration.

 Numbers included “Motorhome Built for Two”

and “I Want a New Motor Home.”

A Motor Home Built for TWO!

Barbershop Group presented

a workshop at Music Camp.

They performed during the

evening Maestro performance.

Sharps and Flats conducted

the regular Chapter meeting. 

It was preceded by

a pizza meal.

Chapter Fair display.

Happy Hours were always a

time to socialize and eat!

South Central gathered for three days to rehearse.    They selected their program from the Original Red Book tunes, Modern Red Book and gospel numbers.  

Maestros of South Central 

entered the Chapter Fair.

National Officers, 

Charlie Adcock International President 

and 

Jon Walker, International Vice President, arrived for their traditional photo opt with the South Central Maestros.

South Central hosted the

annual pizza lunch with

the area and national officers as guests.

Rally Captains and music director

Bob and Kay Easton 

deserve much applause and appreciation 

for their work with 

South Central Frustrated Maestros.

October 6^th -  October 10^th

Music Camp was held

 in the Boone Building.

The three day Music Camp had seven sessions.  The emphasis of the sessions was: harmonizing by ear, reading old Maestro books, reading jazz charts, gospel singing, reading current music, request time, brass ensemble reading session, barbershop harmonization and a polka night.

Each Music Camp morning began 

with light breakfast treats and visiting.

Evenings were desiginated jams.

Daily Happy Hour gave Music Camp folks time to visit.

Music Camp dined out at J and S cafeteria 

in   Fletcher, NC…a part of Asheville, NC.

Members of a Barbershop group presented a session on listening closely and harmonizing.  A group of Music Camp attendees demonstrated their new skills at a dinner.

Nightly taps signaled the close of the day.

The director of Music camp was Charles Marston.

The Rockers provided entertainment for the traditional morning coffees.

Special features included an accordion solo and a rendition of “Fever.”

Bob’s Cats provided music for the volunteer dinner.

A pizza meal was enjoyed during the event.
