Camp was held
in the Boone Building.
The three day Music Camp
had seven sessions. The emphasis of the
sessions was: harmonizing by ear, reading old Maestro books, reading jazz
charts, gospel singing, reading current music, request time, brass ensemble
reading session, barbershop harmonization and a polka night.
Each Music Camp morning
began
with light breakfast treats and visiting.
Evenings were desiginated
jams.
Daily Happy Hour gave
Music Camp folks time to visit.
Music Camp dined out at J and S cafeteria
in Fletcher, NC…a part of Asheville, NC.
Members of a Barbershop
group presented a session on listening closely and harmonizing. A group of Music Camp attendees demonstrated
their new skills at a dinner.
Nightly taps signaled the
close of the day.
The director of Music camp
was Charles Marston.
