"Follow Your Dreams" at Midwest

The Midwest Noteables of FMCA convened in Manchester, IA on July 22, 2013.  They set up Maestroville on the Delaware County Fairgrounds to begin pre-rally rehearsals until noon on July 24, 2013. 
 

The Midwest Rally theme was “Follow Your Dreams” based on the film.   



Band, chorus and the combo rehearsed and performed in the air conditioned Pavillion building.  The facility was shared by all Midwest activities and meetings which defined the amount of rehearsal time for Maestros.   

The center of non musical efforts were under shade trees in the Maestro area.  Happy hours, country band rehearsals, white board announcements, chapter meeting and visiting were a part of the Maestro rally.   

The rally Opening Ceremonies featured the full Maestro ensemble at a dedicated concert time with arrivals enjoying this performance.  Newly elected FMCA International president, Charlie Adcock, was highly complementary of this performance.   Maestros provided the music for the volunteer dinner with a combo.     

Maestros presented a colorful display at the Chapter Fair. 

In tradition Maestros provided music at the start of the day for the Midwest breakfasts.  Two days were performed from the stage area.  The third day the waffle griddles took over this space and Maestros moved across the room. The enjoyable sounding chorus and band were a satisfaction to those performing.

Each morning the Maestro Country Band entertained at the beginning of the performance time.  Under the leadership of Pat Williams this group was enjoyed by all Maestros.

Featured performers included solos and duets. 



In Maestro tradition the Service Songs were played.  Attendees of the recognized service stood while their song was played. Maestros enjoyed eating breakfasts and meals together.   

Rally captains Pat and Pat Williams did an excellent job of pulling the events together after accepting this responsibility late into the prep stage. The Midwest rally was directed by Charles Marston.
