Sharps and Flats caravanned to GEAR 2013 at York,
PA on October 6, 2013. Twenty –two
coaches were joined by several more for the “Harvest in the Keystone State”
rally.
Parking was the same as the 2012 York rally but the
building was renamed to Utz! Pictures
were retaken!
Pre-rehearsals were held on Sunday afternoon, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
Sharps and Flats provided the rally evening
entertainment on the first night, Oct. 9, 2013.
A “Sock Hop at the Ice Cream Shop” drew a crowd of
500+ for the evening. Traditional piled
high scoops of ice cream with toppings provided the start for the evening.

Rally goers dressed in the 50s along with the
Maestros to emphasize the era of the Good Ole Days.
Contests were held to select the best dressed 50s
couple, and the best couple dancers.

| “Name That
Tune” … A medley of tunes was
arranged by director Charles Marston to stump the 5 couple teams. The
women and men competed and the men squeeked out a win by 1 point. National officers and GEAR officers were the
contestants and good sports! |

Three morning coffee performances found Maestros in
the performance area by 7:15 AM.
Coffee-donuts folks were treated to more arrangements of fifties tunes,
solos, duets, a combo and the Dixie group.
The full ensemble and chorus performed marches and concert tunes, novelty
numbers.

chapter meeting.

was the destination
for a group dinner.

…and the rains came and stayed.

GEAR’s Sharps and Flats welcomed new Maestros
Members.
They wished Flower and Glenn MacMillen safe travels
as they end a full timing Maestro career to their new home in Florida.
