The
Sharps and Flats sponsored Music Camp floated many notes into the atmosphere of
Artillery Ridge Campground Oct. 1-5, 2013.
Artillery Ridge is a National Riding Stable. From Oct. 1…until….the horses spent their days in a large fenced area close to Maestro coaches. Used to being involved with riders they were eager to come to the fence for pats.
In
true tradition for Frustrated Maestros the group enjoyed dining together at
Gettysburg Family Restaurant. After the meal the suspense of the week long door
prizes began.
Music
Camp included morning rehearsals developing intonation……blending…chord
structure…reading new music…. stretching
beyond a pre-rally. The three hours were spent with band and chorus alone and
combined.

One
evening voices and instruments lifted joylessly for a hearty Gospel Jam.
The
yearly camp gave opportunities for morning rehearsals, afternoon small groups
and nightly jams. Afternoons were
reserved for area sight seeing….with just one hitch! Due to governmental circumstances the
national parks were closed!!

week ended with a small group presenting a Rock and Roll Sock Hop. Many Maestro couples took spins on the dance
floor.

came in to listen.
Children danced
gleefully with unending energy.
