Music Camp 2011

A highly successful Music Camp in Galax, Virginia had thirty-three coaches for the week. The event is sponsored by GEAR’s Sharps and Flats Maestro chapter. This is the fifth year for Music Camp. Conceived as an outlet for Maestros to gather between rallies, this year’s camp offered band, chorus, workshops and a themed evening jam each day.

The Sharps and Flats leadership worked tirelessly to make this camp a success. Much credit goes to President David Ricketts. Charles Marston was the conductor and Cynthia Colter directed the chorus.

Music Camp 2011 was held at Deer Creek RV Resort just out from Galax, Virginia October 11-15, 2011.  The beautiful setting, very cordial park hosts, the display of fall foliage and proximity to the Blue Ridge Mountains provided an atmosphere for the performing Maestros.
