A Pirate Adventure--Western Area Rally

A Pirate Adventure set the stage for the Western Area Rally in Indio California. The rally was held January 11-15, 2012 at the Riverside County Fair.

Perfect 80 degree weather made the adventure into the pirate world more exciting. Maestros were free to dawn appropriate pirate costumes.

This rally maked the thirtieth anniversary of the beginnings of Frustrated Maestros with the Original Chapter.  A certificate was presented to the Original chapter denoting their anniversary. It was presented by Dick Gibbs Vice President of central region and Rick Ricordati Regional Vice President of  Western Motor Home Association.

From 2011 WI Chpt fair

Unique to the original chapter is the parade of parasols and kazoos. As the band plays "When the saints come marching in" some of the members parade among the audience twirling red and white umbrellas.


This tradition began because Bob Gobrecht use to go to New Orleans during Mardi Gras. He adopted this colorful tradition for the Frustrated Maestros.
